Masjid Siguntur,West Sumatra,Indonesia

In West Sumatra province encountered various historical relics in the form of old buildings. Among these was the mosque which is located in Orchard Siguntur domains, Siguntur Village, District Sitiung, Sijunjung District. Berdenah rectangular mosque is estimated Siguntur built during the Islamic empire. 
Siguntur kingdom was a kingdom before Dharmasyraya in Swarnabhumi (Sumatra), which is located in the upstream Batanghari River. Before entering this small kingdom of Islam ever take shelter under some kingdoms, such as Malays, Sriwijaya, Majapahit, and Singasari. Kings who ever reigned in the kingdom in the pre Islamic Siguntur them is Sri Tribuwana Mauliwarmadewa (1250-1290), Sora (Sora Ox) (1290-1300), Pramesora (Pramesywara) (1300-1343), Adityiawarman (kanakamedinindra) ( 1343-1347), Adikerma (son Paramesora) (1347-1397), Rajo Vases Angek Garang (1397-1425), and the Long Pole (1425-1560). 

At the time Islam was introduced (about 14th century), king Siguntur the time it is held by Pramesora embraced Islam and changed its name to Sultan Muhammad Shah, son of Sora Iskandarsyah. Furthermore Siguntur shelter under the royal kingdom of Minangkabau Alam. For the record, the kings who once ruled the Islamic empire during Siguntur are: Abdul Jalil Sutan Shah (1575-1650), Sultan Abdul Qadir (1650-1727), Sultan Amiruddin (1727-1864), Sultan Ali Akbar (1864 - 1914), Sultan Abu Bakar (1914-1968), Sultan Hendri (1968-present). 

Building Data 
Siguntur Mosque located in one complex with the tombs of kings and traditional house Siguntur Siguntur. This mosque stands on the land size of 21.7 x19 cm with rectangular plan of the building, which cemented stone-walled and tin-roofed three-tiered. Page mosque surrounded by a concrete fence on the front and barbed wire fence on the side and rear. While the entrance courtyard of the mosque is only one fruit made of iron which is located on the east. 

Mosque Siguntur overall has 29 fruit pillars are divided into five main columns are made of ironwood with a diameter of 0.40 meters and 7.85 meters high, 12 high mast with a helper each about five meters, and 12 pole quasi-functioning as anchoring the roof load. 

The main room measuring 15x10 meters mosque with stone walls 40 inches thick of plaster of cement and cement floor. On the wall there are eight main room window made of cream-colored wood with a size of 1.75 x0.75 meters. While the main door mosque located in the east end of the size x1 12.5 meters. The door has two leaves and shaped jalousie (vent), each measuring 2.15 x0, 50 yards. 

Building a mosque is the mihrab on the western side of the size x2 1.22 meters. On his right there is the pulpit who is now not used anymore because Siguntur Mosque is no longer used for Friday prayers. While there are places in the north wudlu mosque with the size of 7x3 meters, divided into three rooms. 

In the north there is the mosque building tombs of the kings who berdenah Siguntur pentagon. These graves marked only with a headstone and tomb of brick and stone, so that the many graves only six graves that can be identified, namely: the tomb of Sri Maharaja Kings Ibn Sultan Muhammad Shah ibn titled Sora, Sultan Abdul Jalil bin Sultan Muhammad Shah Tuangku Bagindo Queen II, Sultan Abdul Kadire Tuangku Bagindo Queen III, Sultan Amirudin Tuangku Bagindo Queen IV, Sultan Ali Akbar Tuangku Bagindo V, and the Sultan Abu Bakar Tuangku Bagindo Queen VI.
