Madurese people have a special ritual performed to welcome the age of seven months in the tradition of a baby toron soil (down underground). As the name implies that's when the baby is represented for the first time on the ground.
In the procession, the baby will be stepping on porridge made from red rice mixed with coconut milk which is believed will make the baby strong and sturdy tread life.
One of the sacred tradition which is still preserved by tradition toron Madurese community is ground (off the ground) that is usually done at the tiny infant aged 7 months.
This tradition was held as a form of hope that someday a child can become a useful person. Before the event was held, bathed the baby first. While the guests - invited guest in this tradition is a child - a child. Community leaders were then asked to read a remembrance and prayer together.
