Former location of the government center is located on the edge of the town of Sambas. At the regional meeting of Sambas river, Small Sambas, and Red, at a place called Muare Ullakan by residents (Village In The) stood Sambas Sultanate Palace.
Government center is located in the Sultanate of Sambas river meeting on plots of land measuring around 16 781 square meters stretching west-east direction.
On this land there are several pieces of buildings, namely the pier where boats against the sultan, two gates, two Paseban, where the sultan's office work, building the palace core (audience hall), kitchen, and the mosque of the Sultan.
Palace buildings facing westward toward the river Sambas. To the north of the pier there Sungau Small Sambas, and to the south there is the Red River. Land around the palace is a marshy area and clustered in some places there is the family tomb of the Sultan.
The building of the old palace built by the Sultan of Bima in the year 1632 (now demolished), while the palace which is still standing today was built in 1933. As a palace on the banks of the river, where the means of transportation is a boat / ship, built of course on the banks of the river pier where boats against the sultan. Pier located in front of the palace is known by the name of the bridge Seteher. This bridge jutted into the middle of a river. From this pier there is the road to the palace and through the gate entrance.
Entrance gate into the yard, two-story palace built with octagonal diagram and breadth of 76 meters square. The lower part is used to place guards and a resting place for people who want to face the sultan, and the top is used to set the place on guard.
In addition, the top at times used as a place for people to beat the gamelan can be heard throughout the city if there was a crowd at the palace.
After going through an octagonal gate, in the midst of the palace yard flagpole can be seen propped up by four pillars. This flag pole symbolizes the sovereign, and symbolize the four-pole auxiliary buffer called the vizier, the sultan. At the bottom of the flagpole, there are two top guns, and one of them named Si Gantar Nature.
Before entering the palace, from the existing yard flag pole, we have to go through yet another gate. This gateway consists of two floors, but the shape of a rectangular diagram. Downstairs where the guards are on duty for 24 hours, while the upper floor is used for families to rest while watching the activities of the sovereign people of everyday life.
After going through a second gate and fence the core, arrived at the palace buildings.
Inside the palace complex there are three buildings. To the left of the main building there is a building the size of 5 x 26 meters. In the past this building functioned as the kitchen and where the palace cook. On the right side of the main building there is another building the same size as the kitchen building. This building served as the Sultan and his assistant work. From the building where the Sultan's palace to work and the main buildings connected by corridors roofed with a length of 5.90 meters and 1.50 meters wide.
Inside the building where the Sultan and his assistant worked, saved some of the imperial heritage, including the imperial throne, the sword of the inauguration of the Sultan, gongs, spears, yellow umbrella is a symbol of the empire, and the cannon catfish. Meriam catfish which are seven in number until the goods are still considered sacred and often diziarahi population. Each kesil sized cannon has a name, ie Raden Mas Raden Samber, Queen of Lightning, Pajajaran Queen, Queen Princess, Raden Pajang, and Commander of Guntur.
The main palace building measuring 11.50 x 22.60 meters. Consists of seven rooms, which is located in the front hall, bedroom sultan, the sultan's wife's bedroom, kids bedroom sultan, family room, dining room, and a special room to sew. At the top of the doorway that connects the audience hall and family room, there is a symbol of the Sultanate of Sambas with "Sultan van Sambas" and angkatahun July 15, 1933. Inside the building, at the Sultan's bedroom treasures stored goods Sambas Sultanate, including the clash sultan, oversized clothes, the imperial umbrella, sword, quiver, ladies, and Sultan Desk. On the walls plastered pictures of the family who had ruled the Sultan of Sambas.
