Laiwangi-Wanggameti National Park,Sumba,NTT,Indonesia

National Parks Laiwangi-Wanggameti is representative of all types of forest in Sumba island, including a rare elfin forest and has a relatively high value of species diversity, especially that there is at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level.
In this area there are types of plants including guava forests (Syzygium sp.), Pulai (Alstonia scholaris), banyan (Ficus sp.), Almond (Canarium oleosum), cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), honggi (Myristica littoralis), suren ( Toona sureni), taduk (Sterculia foetida), kesambi (Schleichera oleosa), and hangkang (Palaquium obovatum). Laiwangi-Wanggameti National Park is the habitat of some wildlife such as long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis fascicularis), wild boar (Sus sp. ), lizard (Varanus salvator), Timor python (Python timorensis), and partridges (Gallus Gallus). In addition, a major population of birds walik rawamanu (Ptilinopus dohertyi), Sumba pigeon (Treron teysmannii) and various other bird species such as gemak Sumba (Turnix everetti), chrysolite cockatoo (Cacatua sulphurea citrinocristata), parrots (Lorius domicella), sweep Sumba ( Ficedula harterti), orioles-sungu Sumba (Coracina dohertyi), and honey Sumba (Nectarinia buettikoferi).
As many as 43 species of butterflies including the three species are endemic in East Nusa Tenggara halipron butterfly (Troides haliphron naias), Elimnias amoena, Sumalia Chilo, Ideopsis oberthurii, and Athyma karita.
Laiwangi-Wanggameti recently designated as national parks, so the facility for visitors is still very limited. Homestay accommodation available in the form provided and managed by local communities.
Around the National Park Laiwangi-Wanggameti met many ancient tombs are carved with a motif such as horses, water buffalo, men and women. This is a symbol of ancient tombs and social status of the family of the deceased.

How to achieve location:
