Pukul Menyapu,Tradition from Maluku,Indonesia

PUKUL  MANYAPU is full of nuances of religious rituals and customs is a show that is conducted every 7 Shawwal Hijri Mamala Village and Countryside Morela, Leihitu District, Central Maluku district. To take these two villages are located north of Ambon Island is accessible using ground transportation from the city of Ambon, located 26 kilometers.

Coconut oil with a reading of the prayers came to be known by the name of oil or oil Tasala Mamala. Descendants of Imam Tuni until now are still making such oil and useful as a wound healer. This oil is efficacious if the process is made at night Hijiriah 7 Syawal. 
 After a broken wooden mosque miraculously connected, Oil Mamala then tested his usefulness to humans by way of whipping the whole body with a broom stick to the wounds. The broken skin caused by a blow stick, we then applied the oil and the wound was healed as before. 
"Events during the past become a tradition in our village. At this Manyapu become customary rituals performed every 7 Shawwal, "said King Abdullah Malawat Mamala. 
At Manyapu ritual was later to become characteristic of these two villages. As a spectacle celebrations attract people because each held a lot of visitors who come from other regions. In addition to local visitors, is also very popular attraction of tourists. By the Tourism Department of Maluku, this tradition included in the Calendering of event tourism Maluku.
