Tomini Bay is one of the largest bay in Indonesia with an area of 59,500 km2 and is the only bay in the world to the center line through the East line of the bay khatulistiwa.Bagian is directly related to the Sulawesi Sea and the Gulf of Tomini Maluku.Secara administrative areas included in the three provinces , namely North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, and Central Sulawesi. Given the Tomini Bay ecosystem, the sustainability of the Bay ecosystem function is not only determined by the performance of resource development and management of each of these administrative regions, but also by inter-regional cooperation in dealing with problems of social resources and cross-border nature. Various kinds of ethnic inhabit the Gulf coastal region Tomini, including tribal communities Bajo, Gorontalo, Babongko, Togean, Bugis, Najau, Saluan, Kaili, and Tomini. Most of these coastal communities to work as fishermen.
