Fort Pendem Cilacap

Fort Pendem Cilacap (Netherlands: Kusbatterij od te de Lantong Cilacap), built in 1861, is a stronghold of Dutch heritage coastal area of Teluk Penyu Cilacap regency, Central Java. The building was built in the area of 6.5 hectares in stages for 18 years, from 1861 until 1879. Pendem fort was a defense of the Dutch headquarters in Cilacap, Central Java, designed by Dutch architect. Enabled Pendem fort until 1942. When the war malawan Japanese forces, the fort successfully mastered this Japan. Year 1941, leaving Japan as a stronghold of Hiroshima and Nagasaki dibom by partners; so, the fort is taken over by the military Loreng Unity Banteng in Central Java. Building pendem fortress consists of several rooms that are still strong until now. Room in the fortress known general consists of barracks, blockhouse, the fort observer, a meeting room, medical clinic, a warehouse of weapons, powder magazine, prison space, kitchen, room officer, missile and space.
