Sangiran Museum is the archaeological museum, located in the District Kalijambe, Sragen regency, Central Java province, Indonesia. This museum is close to the ancient fossil site area Sangiran. Sangiran site has a broad reach 56 km ² covering three districts in Sragen (Gemolong, Kalijambe, and Plupuh) and the District of Gondangrejo incoming Regency Karanganyar. Sangiran site is located in the area of Sangiran Golf is part of the depression, Solo, at the foot of Mount Lawu (17 km from the city of Solo). Sangiran site in this location also, for the first time found fossil mandible Pithecantropus erectus (a species in the taxon Homo erectus) by German archeologists, Professor Von Koenigswald.
