Ambarawa Railway Museum



Railway Museum located in the town of Ambarawa, Central Java. This museum was formerly a railway station which was inaugurated on May 21, 1873 in the era of colonial rule that Koningen William I also called the station before Willem I. Once entering the building used Spoorweg Nederlandsch-Indische Maatschappij or Railway Company Dutch East Indies, we can see things like old station. There are counter platform, the station chief's office, waiting room, and also all the equipment in use as a communication tool, hole punch tool tickets, engineer hats, rubber stamps, typewriters, old clock and other things we could meet there. Ambarawa Railway Museum also has a collection of trains. One of the steam railway locomotive number B 2502 and B 2503 Esslingen Maschinenfabriek made until now still can run the activity as a tourist railway. Jagged steam train is unique and is one of three remaining in the world. Two of them were in Switzerland and India.
