Legend Of The Statue of Si Gale Gale from North Sumatra,Indonesia
Once upon a time there was a very wise king who lived in the area of Toba. The king has only one child, his name Manggale. At the time of war is still often occurs between one kingdom to another kingdom.
This king sent his son to join the war against the enemy who came to attack their territory. At the time of war only child puppet king who was killed during the battle.
The king was devastated him to remember her only son was dead, and the king fell ill. Seeing the King situation is increasingly critical, the royal advisers called smart people to treat the King, from some smart people (doctors) who called to say that the King was ill because of his yearning for the dead child. The doctor suggested to counsel that the kingdom was carved into a wooden sculpture resembling a Manggale face, and the advice of doctors conducted the program in a forest.
When the statue was completed, the Advisory kingdom held a ceremony for the appointment of Statue Manggale to the royal palace. The doctors held a ritual ceremony, blowing Sordam and spirit of the child called the King to put into the statue. The statue was transported from a cabin in the woods and accompanied by sound and Gondang Sabangunan Sordam.
After the group arrived at the royal palace, the king suddenly recover from the disease because the king saw that the statue is just like his son.
This is the origin of the statue Sigale-Gale (son of a King statue named Manggale).
